Bulli Station Upgrade
Client: Sydney Trains
Bulli train station is in the midst of a $3 million revamp due for completion early next year.
A NSW Train Link spokesman said the work would improve safety for commuters catching trains from Bulli.
“The project includes refurbishing platform two, installing new lighting and tactile indicators for the visually impaired, and planting new garden beds and greenery,” he said.
The work will be completed in several stages, designed to coincide with scheduled weekend track work on the line when the station will be closed.
The next scheduled track work is from 2am Saturday, September 27 to 2am Monday, September 29, with platform two closed on the Monday until noon.
Platform one will reopen early on the Monday so morning commuters can catch trains to Sydney.
During the weekend track work in September, buses will replace trains.
“Work started on Monday, June 23, and is due to be complete in February 2015,” the spokesman said. “Residents in the area have been notified in advance about the details and timing of work.”
The Bulli station upgrade is one of several recent projects on the South Coast line.
